At our Lankwitz ice rink in Berlin, we have set up a grinding service that specializes in profiling and grinding ice hockey skates.
In cooperation with the leading manufacturer of automatic ice skate grinding machines ProSharp, we now also offer profiling and special grinding for ice hockey skates in addition to normal grinding of ice skates.
What is profiling?
In addition to the hollow grind, the shape of the runner or the contact area of the runner on the ice is another important feature that can be changed to meet the individual needs of an ice hockey player.
As we increase the radius, we improve stability and speed. If we reduce the radius, the mobility and acceleration improve.
Basically, the runner can be divided into these four areas such as acceleration, maneuverability, speed and stability. This gives us the opportunity, by combining different radii in the different areas of the runner, to respond more specifically to the wishes of an ice hockey player and to be able to optimize all four of the above-mentioned properties. Thus, the running technique of the player is significantly improved.
