Ice skating rules for increased safety

Ice skating rules for increased safety

First of all we would like to wish you a Happy New Year! We are back in our office ready for a successful year and many ice rink projects! But first we thought to share with you a few pictures taken over the holiday season from parts of the world where we delivered and installed permanent ice rinks. Especially over the holiday season it is really important to make sure you communicate the ice skating rules to your customers. Ice skating rinks tend to get a little overcrowded and might seem intimidationg for some people. One of the things that comes in mind when seeing such crowded ice rinks is: is it safe? And the answer is yes, it is, as long as the people on the ice respect some basic safety rules. Our task as the ice rink constructor is to make sure that the ice rink provides high quality ice and that it respects all the rules and regulations. In order to be complete safe though we have to also let our clients know which are the rules that the skaters have to respect. Even if you are a beginner or an experienced skater, these simple regulations will make the experience on the ice during this time less stressful and more fun!
  1. It is recommended to wear protective gears such as helmet, gloves, elbow pads, and knee pads;
  2. Beginner skaters should skate along the sideboard;
  3. Skaters should not carry children or secondary items, such as cameras, handbags, etc. while skating;
  4. Excessive speeding, skating against the crowd or weaving through other skaters should be prohibited;
  5. It is unsafe to sit on or climb over dasher boards;
  6. Skating in anti-clockwise direction is recommended;

We hope you find our advice useful and that you will remember it next time you enter the ice.

Below you can find the promised pictures from the holiday season!
